We’ve all had the dream of playing for a big club, being a professional footballer and living the lifestyle. Well it seems for some, that isn’t the dream at all and former Manchester United striker David Bellion is one of them.

GQ cover the player today and how he’s gone from footballer to personal stylist for former Chelsea man Tiemoue Bakayoko.

For those that don’t remember, Bellion played for Manchester United from 2003 to 2006 but only managed 40 appearances for the club, instead spending most of his time out on loan with West Ham and then Nice before returning to France.

Spells with Nice, Bordeaux and Red Star followed before he called it quits in 2016 and seemingly left the game behind.

He’s since swapped football fields to fashion shows and ‘blazed his trail’ in a completely different profession from the one that dominated his early life.

And it seems he is very happy too, with the magazine explaining he had loved fashion from childhood and continued to explore that while he was playing football too.

So much so that he appears to have combine the two professions, and is now a stylist for former Chelsea midfielder Bakayoko.

“When I got out of training, I went to stores just to look at the clothes. Sometimes I didn’t buy anything,” he said.

“I am a great romantic and I embrace it perfectly in my way of seeing things, of speaking to people. I have a bit of a childish side. I don’t have a very developed competitive spirit, more of an obsession with beauty.

“(It gave) as much pleasure as signing for Manchester United,” he added when asked about a collaboration with rapper Disiz for the cover of GQ Men of the Year in 2023.
