Everton midfielder James Rodriguez has insisted that his regular appearances on Twitch are not distracting from the fact he’s a footballer.

Rodriguez has been a regular on the platform over the last few months, regularly comments on his future, the situation at Everton and the Colombian National Team.

His decision to do so has not gone down well for the most part, with many criticising him for his regular comments.

That’s certainly been the case regarding his future at Everton; with the midfielder’s recent admission, that he didn’t know who the Blues were playing at the weekend, earning him plenty of criticism.

There are those who believe the midfielder needs to choose between being a celebrity or a footballer if he wants to save his career in the coming years, with his love for attention deflecting from performances on the pitch.

The Everton man is having none of that, though, and insisted as much on his latest Twitch appearance.

“There is time for everything, people,” MARCA’s Colombian edition report him saying.

“Just because I’m here doesn’t mean I’m unfocused on my work, on what I want and where I want to go. Don’t get confused, please.

“I’m focused. Remember, being out here playing and talking to you guys doesn’t mean I’m not focused on my job and what I do.

“There is time to train, to be with the family, and I want to take this space to be a little closer.

“I don’t see anything wrong with this; I don’t know about you. I’m not hurting anyone at all”.
