For the past two days, reports coming out of Romania have discussed Crystal Palace interest in FCSB’s Florinel Coman.
On August 12th, Sport.ro explained the Eagles are in advanced negotiations for the forward.
George ‘Gigi’ Becali, the Romanian club’s owner, stressed he has no plans to let Coman leave, at least until his side are done with Europa League qualifiers.
This came a day after the 22-year-old’s agent, Giovanni Becali [George’s cousin], said he’d offered his client to Roy Hodgson’s side.
Giovanni has now changed his stance and stressed that he has not offered the Romania international to the Premier League club.
“Come on, sir, stop talking nonsense, do Crystal Palace want him? Who told you they wanted him? I didn’t say anything. I said I had placed the player everywhere. In England, in Italy, in America, in Spain, everywhere. I introduced him to the teams,” the agent told Antena Sport.
“I have absolutely nothing concrete. I just introduced him, many clubs would like him, but they don’t offer what Gigi [FCSB owner] wants.”
Coman’s representative also stressed the attacker has received only two offers so far and neither is from the Eagles.
“When a team was interested, the one from America, they came and talked to the club and they didn’t get along,” Giovanni said.
“When a club is one hundred percent interested and knows what Gigi is about and how much he wants, then they will talk, until then, nothing. The only offers were from Sporting and Orlando.”
George Becali has slapped a €15m asking price on Coman, and Giovanni backtracking could give an indication that Palace have decided against signing the player this summer.
Coman scored 15 goals and registered 11 assists in 40 matches for FCSB in the 2019/20 season.
