Hull City chairman Acun Ilıcalı has told the Turkish media that he’s confident they can sign West Bromwich Albion midfielder Okay Yokuşlu this summer.
The Championship side have been linked with the West Brom player this month, but face competition from Trabzonspor.
Gazete Duvar have reported on comments the Hull City chief made in his press conference today ahead of his club’s clash with Fenerbahce tomorrow evening. He said he admired the 30-year-old and even though things can change during the window he believes the player can be signed this summer.
“I like Okay very much and I appreciate him very much. Nothing is set in stone. It wouldn’t be a surprise if he comes to Hull City,” said Ilıcalı
Earlier this month we covered reports from Turkey that Hull City were in the race to sign the West Brom player but had to fight off the interest from Trabzonspor. The Super Lig were reportedly in transfer talks to sign Yokuşlu, but at an early stage.
Yokuşlu made 18 appearances for West Brom last season and there’s a chance he could move on this summer. He’s contracted to the Baggies until June 2025 after arriving at the Hawthorns in 2022.
