On July 18th, Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws reported Club Brugge forward Anthony Limbombe ‘has an agreement with Huddersfield Town’.

The same publication now reports David Wagner’s side had an ‘verbal agreement’ with the Jupiler Pro League outfit.

However, in the last few weeks the Terriers haven’t managed to agree with the 24-year-old, despite the earlier report suggesting otherwise. Therefore, it’s stated Limbombe will not make a switch to the Premier League this summer.

The attacker is aware that he is attracting interest and he’s on the radar of French and German clubs, but Ivan Leko’s side have not received concrete proposals for their player so far.

Limbombe is not in Leko’s plans for the next season and it should be seen where he will play.

HLN also mentions Newcastle United and Southampton were interested in signing the Belgium international earlier in January. However, neither of the English clubs submitted a concrete offer for Limbombe.
