Dutch newspaper AD reports on Thursday that Kenneth Dougall is set to sign for League One club Barnsley.

It’s not presented as a rumour, and AD clearly believe the transfer is a sure thing.

Dougall is a 25 year old Australian who can play in midfield or defence, and he’ll be moving to England from Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam.

He joined them from Telstar in 2015 and has clearly done enough to catch the eye of Barnsley’s scouts.

AD say Dougall set off on Thursday morning to travel to England and then complete the formalities of a transfer.

Once that is all done, and presumably a medical passed without any problems, it’s believed the transfer will be made official today.

Barnsley are said to be paying Sparta a fee in the region of €400k, which the Dutch media seem to believe is a good deal for the Jupiler League club.
