IFK Norrkoping’s Linus Wahlqvist has again been linked with a move to Leeds United in the Swedish press.
Leeds United made an approach for the 20-year-old in the summer, followed by claims in November they were keen to sign him in this transfer window.
Aftonbladet have today reported on speculation Wahlqvist could be heading to England after impressing for his club and country in the past 12 months.
The Swedish newspaper claim Leeds United are the club showing interest in the young right back, but with the transfer deadline just days away it’s unlikely the Championship side will have time to get a deal done.
Aftonbladet have also revealed Wahlqvist yesterday wasn’t involved in Norrkoping’s pre-season with Shakhtar Donetsk, although a reason for his absence hasn’t been given.
We covered reports this month from the Swedish press that Leeds United were close to signing Wahlqvist in the summer, which would have made him the third Swede to be signed by Garry Monk in that window.
The youngster was again linked with Leeds United in November with claims they were lining up a bid for the player in the January window.
