Gazzetta dello Sport report on Sunday there’s strong Premier League interest in Leandro Paredes. The AS Roma midfielder has reportedly been the subject of ‘offers’, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham named as the interested clubs.

It’s not stated which club or clubs have made the offer for Paredes, but the insinuation would be it’s those three in the running.

Arsenal aren’t a club who have been strongly linked with Paredes in the past, and it wouldn’t be an obvious Arsene Wenger deal. The 22 Argentine is a flexible midfielder and Arsenal’s squad isn’t crying out for such a player, but it could be different in the summer.

The reason to be interested would be the player’s clear talent, potential, and that he’s available. AS Roma are looking to raise money for other targets and as such Paredes is being edged towards the market.

Should the player leave Roma then it’s not going to go down well with the club’s supporters. Paredes is seen as one for the future and highly rated among Roma fans. On Saturday night he posted an Instagram update of himself playing for Roma, which led to fans begging him to stay.

It’s an opportunity for Arsenal, but maybe Wenger will believe it’s one he doesn’t need to take right now… unless one of those offers is from the Gunners.
