Sdna.Gr claim Panathinaikos are interested in signing Newcastle United attacker Callum Roberts ahead of the summer transfer window.
It’s reported the Greek giants are looking to add the Newcastle U23 player to their squad and the club’s sporting director Nikos Dabizas is exploring the possibility of bringing in the player.
Dabizas is familiar with the Premier League club following his time at St James’ Park
The 21 year old’s contract with Newcastle will expire at the end of the season and the Greek club are considering getting the winger on a free transfer. There have been recent reports Roberts will not be offered a new deal.
Panathinaikos are said to looking to add some pace in the wide areas for next season and they’ve also been linked with Asteras Tripoli winger Kosmas Tsilianidis.
No offers have yet been submitted for either player, say Sdna.
Roberts had a loan spell with Colchester United earlier this year, but he recently returned to the Magpies.
This season Roberts has played 13 games for Newcastle United in the PL2, and scored 9 goals.
