Over the past few days, reports coming out of Germany have talked about Manchester United and Liverpool looking at Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Denis Zakaria.
According to Sky in Germany, the Reds have joined Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, Atlético Madrid, Bayern Munich and Bayern Munich in chasing the midfielder.
It’s claimed the Champions League winners ‘want to attack’ the 23-year-old in the next transfer window.
The Switzerland international’s contract with the Bundesliga side runs down in 2022, but there’s a possibility his development could take place elsewhere after this season.
Jürgen Klopp’s side once again get a mention as the report states ‘temptation’ from Liverpool and other clubs to sign Zakaria is ‘great’. However, Mönchengladbach won’t let go of their star player without a fight.
Sky states interested clubs will have to submit an ‘immoral offer’ to get Zakaria away from the German club.
Meanwhile, Mönchengladbach manager Marco Rose believes Zakaria can still improve his game.
“He is a very complete footballer who still has a lot of development potential. He has incredible dynamics, understanding of the game and is not yet at the end of his development,” Rose told Sky.
