Earlier this month, journalist Gianluca di Marzio reported that Manchester United have identified Jules Koundé as their first-choice defensive target.

It was also stated the Red Devils are working to make Sevilla lower their transfer demands.

The defender, who is yet to represent France, is included in Didier Deschamps’ squad for Euro 2020.

This news has been well received at Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, reports La Colina de Nervión.

His performances for the La Liga side have made him ‘one of the jewels of the transfer market,’ and making it to the France squad will only drive the centre-back’s asking price up.

It’s claimed the former Bordeaux man doesn’t lack suitors and the Old Trafford club get a mention.

As per the report, United ‘asked for a price’ with the Spanish club, and in response, Sevilla sporting director Monchi demanded ‘no less than €65m’. This could rise further if Koundé starts for Les Bleus and if they go on to win the tournament.

‘It’s certain’ Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will look for a new central defender as it’s their ‘main objective’ this summer.

Apart from Manchester United, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are also included in the suitors list to sign Koundé.

‘A great battle is expected to take over the services of Jules Koundé, in which Sevilla FC will demand that the bids go around their termination clause. Deschamps’ call only reinforces Sevilla FC’s strong position in the transfer market,’ states La Colina de Nervión.
