Last week, the Portuguese press reported that Wolverhampton Wanderers were on the chase for Sporting youngster Rodrigo Fernandes.
Newspaper O Jogo said Wolves were evaluating the chances of signing the player, who’s a Jorge Mendes client, and could offer up to €12m for him. The agent connection was presented as being an important factor in Wolves interest.
Today it’s newspaper A Bola who brings an update on the player’s situation, and they claim that he should soon leave Sporting.
The youngster is no longer training with the first team squad, and is staying in shape with the work of a personal trainer.
The outlet claims there’s a ‘good possibility’ of him moving to England, since he’s been recently linked to Wolves, with the Mendes factor being of huge importance.
A Bola aren’t sure if Fernandes would move on a permanent transfer or a loan deal. Either way, things look good for clubs who want him.
