Turkish website ASpor say Galatasaray are interested in signing Mario Balotelli on a free transfer from Nice, but report the Turkish club will face competition from West Ham United.

Meanwhile, Turkish newspaper Takvim report Galatasaray board member Sukru Haznedar has met with Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola to discuss a potential transfer, and both sides have reportedly talked thorough the financial aspects of the deal.

Galatasaray boss Fatih Terim is very keen on signing the Italian forward as he feels he could be a great partner for Bafetimbi Gomis, but need to fight off the competition from West Ham.

West Ham have struggled in front of goal this season despite the signing of Javier Hernandez last summer, and it was well documented they wanted to bring in a forward in January.

West Ham boss David Moyes has frequently used Marko Arnautovic in front of goal and the Premier League side could look to sign Balotelli on a free transfer.

Mario Balotelli’s Nice contract ends in June, and so far this season he’s scored 21 goals in 32 games for the French club. Last season he managed 16 goals in 24 appearances, showing he’s back in some consistent goalscoring form.

Balotelli to West Ham sounds a little crazy, but it could well work out.
