When Pablo Hernandez hangs up his boots he’ll be off to Castellon, and perhaps before then he can manage a season for the Spanish third division side.
The Leeds United player helped save the club last year, along with Angel Dealbert. Both men used to play at Castellon and Valencia, and Dealbert, now 35 years of age, has already returned to play for the team.
Hernandez and Dealbert, with the help of the club’s new president Vicente Montesinos, have been crucial in the club still existing, and last September they passed the figure of 10,000 subscribers.
Now that’s gone up further, with Spain’s El Confidencial reporting Castellon now have over 12,000 members. Pablo Hernandez gets some credit, as do the other two men, and the figure is a record for Spain’s third tier.
Hernandez currently has his Leeds United future under question, with his contract expiring in the summer and interest from other clubs. At 32 years of age he’s perhaps too young to return to play at Castellon but his future plans with the club are getting continued boosts.
