On Tuesday morning, we saw journalist Bruno Andrade saying on Twitter that Fulham had a failed attempt for the signing of Benfica defender Morato.
With the Whites offering between €10m and €12m for the transfer, it was claimed the Eagles are not interested in selling, and demanded €50m for the move.
Now Andrade is back with a full story on Mais Futebol, and there are a few more details of Fulham’s effort to land the centre-back.
That’s why Fulham are said to be ‘studying a second bid’, even though it’s not said how much the Whites would put on the table this time.
Once again, it’s said that Benfica see Morato as a very important player, and the negotiation is expected to be ‘very complicated’.
Mais Futebol adds that with ‘no interest’ in selling the player, the Eagles will continue to demand €50m, while the player is protected by a €100m release clause.
With Fulham thinking of a second bid, perhaps they think Benfica are bluffing with that request.
