Fulham star Raul Jimenez has admitted he is waiting on the club to renew his deal and give him another year at the club.

TUDN have an interview with Jimenez today in which he’s asked about his contract situation, and his goal of replacing Chicharito Hernandez as Mexico’s top goal scorer.

Jimenez is currently in the final months of his contract with Fulham, with his deal set to expire at the end of the season.

Fulham, though, have an option to extend it by another year so any potential transfer talk has been put to one side for the time being.

It remains to be seen whether Marco Silva’s side will take up that option, despite Jimenez having managed ten goals and three assists in 34 games in the Premier League this season.

The Mexican striker is also unaware of what the plan is, admitting the power remains entirely in Fulham’s hands.

“It’s what I want, what I’m looking forward to,” he said.0

“It’s Fulham’s choice to activate it just and it would be another year, that’s my throw, stay as long as possible in Europe.”

While the focus is on remaining in Europe in his club career, there is also a determination to keep featuring for Mexico.

Jimenez has established himself as a key player with the national team once again after being pushed out by the previous regime.

He has 39 goals for his country, making him their third highest goal scorer ever behind Jared Borgetti and Chicharito, the latter of whom sits on 52, and Jimenez has that record firmly in his sights.

“It would be very nice, incredible, the records are there to break them,” he added.

“I have an important opportunity to do it, it’s not something that takes my sleep off, but it’s something I’d like and if you can I’m going to try to reach it.”
