João Palhinha has signed a new deal at Fulham since his move to Bayern Munich collapsed on deadline day. His contract lasts until 2028, with the Premier League side having an option to extend it for another year.
Despite the summer disappointment, Sky Deutschland now state the 28-year-old has a ‘big dream’ to join the Bavarian club in January.
Thomas Tuchel wanted a new midfielder and was keen on bringing the Fulham star to the club in the last window.
Bayern haven’t yet bolstered the No.6 position and Sky state the Portugal international hopes that their leaders will not only show interest in him again but also contact Marco Silva’s side in a ‘timely manner’, to avoid any potential setbacks.
Sky transfer expert Florian Plettenberg claims Fulham value the player around €60-65m, and this is a problem for the Bundesliga winners as it’s ‘impossible’ for them to meet the Premier League side’s asking price for Palhinha in the winter market.
Bayern honorary president Uli Hoeneß had recently admitted that his side are unwilling to spend big in January and Plettenberg seems to base his claim on the Hoeneß comments.
Palhinha has scored one goal from eight games this season.
