Fulham and West Ham United are interested in Werder Bremen defender Felix Agu and could be handed a chance to get him via a release clause.
That’s according to Sky Sports Germany, who reveal that the 25-year-old has a release clause in his current deal that could lead to a move this summer.
They explain that Agu has a release clause worth around €8-10m tied into his current deal, which runs until 2027. This, though, is only active until the end of May 2025.
His performances have ‘aroused international interest’ in him and both Fulham and West Ham are watching his situation closely. Teams from Italy are also keeping an eye on him while the Nigerian national team have invited him to join them also. He has Germany nationality at present.
He’s already played two games for German U21s but is yet to make his full international debut for the German national side and it seems Nigeria want to take advantage of that.
They, like Fulham and West Ham, have taken notice of his performances for Bremen since he joined them from VfL Osnabrück in 2020.
He could now be set for a big move, particularly with such a low clause, which could be tempting for the Premier League duo.
