Following initial reports from Portugal this week claiming Fulham are making moves for the signing of Mateus Uribe from Porto, here’s another source backing that up.
Journalist Bruno Andrade writes on Twitter that the Craven Cottage side have ‘entered strongly’ in the race for the 32-year-old.
It’s said Fulham are ‘already preparing an offer’ for the player, whose contract with Porto expires at the end of the season.
The Whites should just know that the Dragons, who want to keep him, and Flamengo, who try to bring him to Brazil, already placed their bids as well.
Fulham’s interest in Uribe had first been reported on Tuesday by Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, who claimed the club made ‘informal contacts’ for the signing.
Later on, Record wrote on Thursday that Marco Silva’s side ‘could convince’ the player of making the switch, since the Premier League is a very attractive destination.
With the player free to decide his future, Fulham may sound like an obvious option for competing in such a desirable competition, but we shall wait and see the player’s option, as well as other interested clubs who may show up in the near future.
