Fulham have ‘solicited information’ regarding Borussia Mönchengladbach striker Alassane Plea as they look to bolster their squad for next season.

That’s according to Fussball Transfers, who say the striker ‘can imagine a transfer’ this summer, leaving his future at the German club in doubt.

They report that the 30-year-old is ‘dissatisfied’ with the current situation at the club and is ‘seriously considering’ a departure for somewhere new.

He would like to return to his native France, where he does have interest from the likes of Lyon, where he played earlier in his career and still has admirers.

However, there is also interest in England, and Fulham are one of several sides who have ‘already contacted’ the player’s advisors to ask about his situation. They, though, ‘don’t have a good hand’ in the poker game because of his wish to return to France.

Nonetheless, the interest is there and if that return home doesn’t’ become a concrete possibility there is a chance Plea will look at his other options.

Fulham would not be a bad one given their impressive first season in the Premier League under Marco Silva and they could easily afford the striker’s €10m release clause, which activates this summer.

At the moment it appears he would like to move elsewhere but it’s a situation to keep an eye on and a name to watch out for in the coming weeks and months.
