Tottenham have ‘reached an agreement’ with Bayern Munich for Mathys Tel worth €60m after pushing for him over the last 24 hours.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who report that there is an agreement in place for Tel to head to Tottenham before the end of the transfer window.
According to their information, the two clubs have reached an agreement for the 19-year-old to move to Tottenham in a €60m deal. That has now been finalised, although there is no indication of whether this is €60m upfront or made up in a different format.
Either way, Tottenham have reached an agreement with Bayern, and it is now up to Tel to make a decision on his future.
He has sparked a race for his signature this week by indicating he wants to leave Bayern Munich before the window closes.
However, L’Equipe report that the 19-year-old striker is taking his time to reflect on the bid from Tottenham.
Bayern want him to make a decision sooner rather than later but there is still an open window for other clubs, with several in the mix for him, to send proposals to Bayern also.
Le Parisien back this up, reporting that Tottenham have accelerated negotiations for Tel today after he played for Bayern Munich in the 3-1 win over Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday.
They’re the club who ‘pushes a lot’ and have now found an agreement with Bayern in principle on a deal worth €60m. This is seen as a ‘colossal amount’ for Bayern given they paid €20m for him in 2022 and he’s managed 16 goals and seven assists in 83 game since.
Other clubs are still on the lookout and consider any move for him ‘a good deal’ and Tel continues to reflect on his future, perhaps waiting for other offers to arrive. That should happen, at least according to Le Parisien, but Tottenham ‘throws all its strength’ into the battle and are currently out in front.
