Luis Díaz’s Liverpool future has been uncertain for quite some time, dating all the way back to 2023.
At that point, the player’s father talked up a dream move to Barcelona and given the number and type of stories in the Catalan sport media, it’s seemed clear someone has been trying to tempt the Blaugrana into making a transfer attempt.
Barcelona have limited funds and Díaz hasn’t been a priority for them. Earlier this year, it was reported the Liverpool player was frustrated with his contact situation at Anfield and that was encouraging the transfer desire.
Given an attempt from Barcelona looks unlikely right now, other decisions may need to be made. Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra reports Díaz’s camp and Liverpool are set for talks in the coming weeks.
Those will be talks over a potential renewal and the outcome will determine whether the attacker looks to leave in the summer or signs a new deal and stays at Liverpool long term.
