Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci has been linked with a return to Italy this summer. The 27-year-old spent last season on loan with Empoli, but the Tuscan club didn’t activate their right of redemption on the player.
Last week it was confirmed Bellusci would be returning to Leeds United due to Empoli’s relegation to Serie B.
Calciomercato have reported Bologna, Chievo, Benevento, and SPAL all have their eyes set on the Leeds United outcast ahead of the summer transfer window.
The four Italian clubs have yet to make a move on Bellusci, according to Calciomercato, but developments could happen in the coming weeks.
Bellusci will be hoping to get a move back to Italy following his time at Empoli. The former Catania player looks surplus to requirements at Leeds United, and the defender was critical of the Championship side last season.
Bellusci also came in for flak from the Leeds United fans the previous season, and it’s likely they will be glad to see the back of him if he can engineer a move back to his home country this summer.
