According to a report in the Swedish media, Joel Mumbongo’s proposed move to Birmingham City has collapsed due to FFP implications.
The young Swede has been linked with a move to the Championship club in recent weeks.
Fotboll Direkt today report the Utsiktens BK player had agreed personal terms with Birmingham City, and the deal just had to be sealed between the two clubs.
However, it’s claimed due to Birmingham City’s issues complying with FFP the transfer has been blocked, with no possibility of appealing the decision with the FA.
It’s said the transfer of the 19 year old to Birmingham City was close, but the financial issues got in the way.
This may come as a blow to the West Midland club, who were looking to add to their squad before the transfer deadline.
Mumbongo has impressed for Utsiktens BK, scoring 7 goals in 15 games for the Swedish club.
