Former Chelsea midfielder Ramires has revealed he’s not happy with the way he left the London club in January 2016.

The player joined the Blues in a €22m move from Benfica in 2010, and left for the Chinese side JS Suning for €28m in the middle of the season.

Ramires wasn’t being used a lot during his final months at Chelsea, and after a successful spell with Premier League and Champions League titles for the club, he thinks he deserved better treatment.

CapturarSpeaking to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, the 30-year-old answered a few questions about the move to China.

First asked how did he reacted to the JS Suning bid, he said: “The offer from China came right when I was going through a complicated time at Chelsea.

“I was playing well, I was in my best form, but the manager preferred to leave that and all my history at the club aside; and then started not to give me opportunities.

“Then the offer arrived from Jiangsu Suning arrived, where I was the centre of a great project…”

Then he was directly questioned about why Guus Hiddink has left him out of the team: “I still can’t understand the reasons. I can’t deny it upset me, especially for everything I had conquered at Chelsea.

“But it happens, football has these things. I don’t keep any hard feelings for him, not for anyone. I could have prolonged my history at the club, but… life goes on.”

Ramiro also gave his opinion on the current squad, and is clearly an Antonio Conte fan: “The team got back on track and the results started coming again.

“I see a lot of Conte’s hand in the improvement, considering that he managed to get the best from the players, which is Hazard’s case. Chelsea are a club who live in my heart.”
