Nottingham Forest are likely to easily win the race for Rangers defender Borna Barisic, should they end up competing with Dinamo Zagreb for his signature.
That’s according to Nogometne Vijesti, who say Dinamo don’t have much chance should Nottingham Forest try to sign the player from Ibrox as expected.
Reports today have linked Steve Cooper’s side with a move for Barisic, whose current contract at Rangers expires in the summer and is yet to be renewed.
The Tricky Trees are believed to be showing ‘very serious’ interest in the defender and they may even look to get a deal done on the cheap in the January transfer window if they can.
That would put them in competition with Dinamo, who had the Rangers man ‘on the radar’ in the summer but a deal did not end up happening.
It was believed a deal was more ‘realistic’ in January, but should they now face competition from Nottingham Forest, it would not be much of a battle.
Nogometne Vijesti report that Forest would have ‘much higher paying power’ than Dinamo and it ‘should be a formality’ for them if they were to compete with Dinamo.
Or, in other words, it would be much easier for them to convince Barisic on the move from Rangers if they set their mind to it.
It’s a situation to keep an eye on moving forwards, with the growing belief that Barisic will be leaving Ibrox in the coming months, perhaps as early as January.
