It seems that Manchester City loanee Marlos Moreno won’t be missed at Flamengo.
Although there are still two months left in his contract with the Brazilian side, there’s already a ‘farewell mood’ for him at the club, according to UOL today.
Moreno couldn’t impress in his spell, having scored his first goal for the club in only his 23th appearance. It had been two years since he had last scored one.
And even though Flamengo are making a good league campaign overall, they apparently aren’t even considering an attempt to keep Moreno for longer, as there’s a sensation of having wasted money in his signing.
UOL says that Moreno makes around R$300k (£65k) a month at Flamengo, which is considered to be a high salary for the Brazilian standards, and that’s why they expected much more for him.
With the player having failed to impress during his loans at Deportivo La Coruña and Girona as well, we wonder what will Manchester City do when he returns to the club in January.
