While Chelsea fans might be very familiar with the names Mason Mount, Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi, they might have forgotten about Deishawn Redan.

The 22-year-old striker signed for the Blues back in 2017, and spent two seasons at Stamford Bridge until he was sold to Hertha BSC in 2019.

He scored a lot of goals for the youth teams, but eventually wanted to play first-team football, which led him to seek an exit from Chelsea, as he explained in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

Redan spent a lot of time going from loan to loan while at Hertha, and eventually decided it was time to try something else, which is when he moved to Italy with Venezia.

He is now on loan at Triestina for the season, where he is enjoying life in Serie C, scoring seven goals in 14 appearances, which he has complemented with two assists.

During his chat with the Italian newspaper, he looked back on his time at Chelsea, which he still remembers very fondly.

He said: “Several English clubs wanted me, but in the end I chose the Blues. At Chelsea, I played with Mount, James and Hudson-Odoi. They were fantastic, they gave me a lot of assists. We all lived in the same neighbourhood, and after games or training, we went out to eat and do some shopping.”
