This week seems to be the one in which Erling Haaland will move to Manchester City, and the transfer rumour mill has gone into overdrive.
Every man, his dog and then the next man as well are having their say on the transfer, which is likely to be one of, if not the biggest, transfer of the summer.
It’s a huge deal with lots of caveats and facets to it before you even get to discussing how Haaland will fit in at Manchester City and whether he’ll even be a success.
That remains to be seen, and in the meantime, the deal has to be finalised, and that’s what City and Borussia Dortmund seem to be working on this week.
Sport 1 cover the situation today and explain that the German side have already moved to replace Haaland, with a move for Karim Adeyemi expected to go through this week.
That is partly due to Haaland’s imminent move to Manchester City, a transfer saga which has been given ‘clarity’ this week.
Haaland was in Brussels this week for a ‘secret medical check’ and is now destined for the Etihad, bar a very surprising turnaround.
His sale ‘provides planning security’ for Dortmund, with journalist Patrick Berger explaining there is one ‘extremely unusual’ aspect to the deal in place.
“I am very excited about how this week will go,” he told the outlet.
“We call it the transfer week of truth because this is when important decisions are made for a successful future.
“Incidentally, the €75m will be paid immediately in one instalment, which is extremely unusual.
“But BVB gets the money immediately from the sheikhs from England and can invest directly now. They will sign Karim Adeyemi this week for around 35 million euros, and a real centre-forward is also to come as Haaland’s successor.”
