In recent days, West Ham United have again been linked with Galatasaray attacker Barış Alper Yılmaz, following on from their interest in the 24-year-old last summer.

There’s been claims this week the Hammers have made an offer for the Turkey intentional, which was reportedly rejected by the Super Lig leaders.

Turkish journalist Kaya Temel has spoken to Haber Sarikirmizi about the latest developments regarding West Ham’s pursuit of Yılmaz and he says Galatasaray are expecting more than €30m from the sale of the player.

There had been previous reports Cimbom could be looking for bids in the region of €40m.

The Turkish journalist, who specialises in Galatasaray, is quoted as saying: “West Ham United are preparing to make an offer of €20+5m for Baris Alper Yilmaz. Galatasaray has an expectation of more than €30m for Barış Alper Yılmaz.”

Despite West Ham’s intentions it’s looking unlikely Galatasaray will consider selling him during this transfer window. The Istanbul side are fighting on three fronts for silverware and want to keep hold of their key players.

However, their stance could change in the summer when the London club will have a better opportunity to sign him.

Yılmaz is contracted to Galatasaray until June 2027.
