Arsenal are keen on bringing Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht to the Emirates in the summer transfer window.
The Jupiler Pro League side rejected the Gunners’ initial approach, which is why Mikel Arteta’s side had to table an improved offer at the end of June.
The Gunners’ latest offer included €17.5m in fixed fee and an additional €4m in potential bonuses.
Three days ago, Het Laatste Nieuws explained the deal to take the midfielder to the Emirates is ‘almost complete’ and he could undergo his Arsenal medical this week.
HLN have come up with another short report on the 21-year-old today and the title reads the player will ‘sign with Arsenal for five years’.
Within the report, it’s explained the north London club and Vincent Kompany’s side have been negotiating for weeks and now the last details of the deal are ‘smoothed out’.
All parties involved in the deal ‘assume that everything will be fine’ and it’s a ‘matter of dots and commas’ to conclude the operation.
HLN adds Lokonga himself doesn’t take into the account a turnaround [deal collapsing] and is expected to sign a five-year contract with Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Belgian journalist Sven Claes is reporting Lokonga is ‘undergoing medical tests today’ before he seals a switch to north London. He further adds the midfielder will join his new Arsenal teammates at the pre-season camp in Scotland next week.
