Joel Robles has been linked with a return to Spain since the moment Everton were first seriously linked with a move for Jordan Pickford.
It’s understandable Ronald Koeman has brought in a new goalkeeper, and it appears to be Robles edged towards the exit. There’s been plenty of rumours of interest in Spain, with a handful of clubs repeatedly linked over the past month.
However, none of those clubs are reasonable spenders, and it would be difficult for them to please both Everton and Robles financially.
La Voz de Galicia goes over a possible move to Deportivo La Coruna in their Sunday edition, but again there’s no mention of finances.
If a new goalkeeper comes in then Depor will allow Przemysław Tyton to leave, freeing them of the Pole’s ‘high card’.
That means wages, but Joel is likely on much more, so the idea doesn’t make perfect sense.
Until there’s an actual offer it’s unclear just how low Depor may go in, but La Voz feel it’s all ‘well placed’ for a deal.
