With only two starts and no goals this season, Rafa Mir’s decision to join Nottingham Forest on loan hasn’t paid off.
Three days ago, Marca reported the forward’s loan deal with the Championship side will be cut short and he will return to Wolverhampton Wanderers in January. It was also explained Real Zaragoza knocked on the door to sign him.
On January 2nd, we covered claims made by Heraldo explaining the 22-year-old is a ‘preferred option’ for Huesca in the winter market. The Wolves owned player was on their radar before he joined Nottingham Forest.
Friday’s Galicia edition of AS claims the Segunda División side have reactivated their interest in the Spaniard and the Aragon edition of the same newspaper provides more information. Their headline reads ‘Huesca bid strong for the transfer of Rafa Mir’.
Wolves are expected to recall the attacker this month and the report claims Huesca are ‘willing to make an effort’ to sign him as he’s top of their wish-list.
AS also adds ‘everything indicates’ Mir will return to Spain to relaunch his career and Huesca are well positioned for his transfer.
Damian Musto joined Brazilian side Internacional on loan and this allows Huesca to save €400,000 in wages. This makes it economically feasible for the Spanish side to sign Mir.
