Kasper Dolberg’s performance, and goal, for Ajax against Lyon on Wednesday has of course brought more attention to the young Danish striker. Not so long ago Dolberg was at the centre of the European rumour mill, but with the Eredivisie not getting much coverage outside of the Netherlands, the attention dropped.
Recently speaking to FourFourTwo, Dolberg said he didn’t feel ready to join a club like Manchester City or Manchester United, and the Liverpool Echo used that to give Everton more of a chance.
That’s made it to Denmark, and BT use it as the basis to say Everton are ‘wild’ for Dolberg. Of course, that’s just speculation built on speculation, but Ronald Koeman’s club continue to be seen as an ideal stepping stone for players going on to the very greatest of things.
Romelu Lukaku appears to see things that way, and Youri Tielemans has openly agreed with statements that Everton would be the ideal type of club for him.
Kasper Dolberg is 19 years of age and has scored 20 goals so far this season.
