One of the major talking points in the Turkish Press this summer will be Galatasaray’s Bruma. The 22-year old is currently in talks with Galatasaray over an extension, with both sides unable to agree on it so far.
Southampton and Leicester City have been linked with the player in recent days, and are watching the situation closely, and now there’s claims the Galatasaray board are becoming increasingly frustrated with Bruma’s agent Catio Balde.
AkşamSpor today report the main reason for Bruma not signing a new contract is Balde, as previously reported by the Turkish media. It’s alleged Balde has informed Bruma that he’ll earn a lot more money if he leaves Galatasaray as a free agent next summer.
Akşam also say Balde believes he can also get a good agent fee if Bruma leaves on a free so he is currently encouraging his client to stay at Galatasaray and complete his contract.
This very much sounds like Galatasaray, the Turkish media, or both, lashing out in frustration. From Sport Witness’ experience, Balde isn’t one to talk up a big move, encourage interest, or play any of the games agents are usually accused of.
Both Leicester City and Southampton will be looking to strengthen their squads in the summer window, and the former Sporting Lisbon player is an option.
Leicester and Southampton will need to act quickly to sign the Portugal international as there is likely to be plenty of interest in the summer given his contract situation.
