Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad has a big feature in their Thursday edition on transfers which could be happening for Belgian clubs and Belgian footballers this summer.
At the side of the main stars of the story is ‘the bench’ and Everton’s David Henen is sat on it. It’s explained the midfielder will definitely be looking to get a transfer sorted out in the summer window, and there’s a possibility he could be returning to Belgium.
That’s it, straight to the point.
A few days ago, a Belgian transfer round-up from Voetbal Nieuws reported Henen wants to continue his career in Belgium from the summer onwards. He’s ‘not in the plans at all’ at Everton and would be looking for a new opportunity.
Henen’s Everton contract expires on June 30th and as it stands a Goodison Park stay isn’t looking likely.
A lot had been expected of the 22 year old but he hasn’t managed to make the breakthrough and it’s looking unlikely it’s going to happen now.
A step backwards to reluanch his career isn’t the worst scenario for the youngster.
