Sandro Ramirez continues to be the bridesmaid rather than the bride, as Sevilla try and get Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea before the window closes.
Batshuayi has scored three goals and made an assist over his last four appearances for Chelsea, which could make one wonder why the club would be keen to get rid of the Belgian.
Marca say Sevilla are keeping Sandro on the back-burner just in case the Batshauyi deal collapses. The Everton transfer is Seville’a ‘ace up the sleeve’ for the end of the January market, and Marca give the impression there’s confidence a deal could be done.
But that all sounds like Sandro and Everton are just waiting around for Sevlla to come knocking, and what if they don’t?
If Sandro misses other options because he’s been holding out for Sevilla then he could end up stuck at Goodison Park for the rest of the season, seeing his already very faint World Cup hopes completely extinguished.
From Everton’s perspective there’s no point keeping a player on high wages who isn’t being used and perhaps both Sandro and club need to insert a little panic into this transfer situation.
