PSV Eindhoven’s Denzel Dumfries will join Everton this summer, with Inter Milan turning their attention to Hector Bellerin instead.
That’s according to Sport Mediaset, who say that Everton ‘will be his destination’ this summer.
Dumfries has been heavily linked with a move to Everton since the European Championships, when it was made clear he was a favourite of Marcel Brands’.
They’ve been working on a deal for weeks but faced competition from Inter, who are looking at him as a replacement for Achraf Hakimi.
Earlier today, it was reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport that Everton could have the upper hand as they are capable of matching PSV’s demands while Inter aren’t.
Sport Mediaset now go one further and say Everton ‘will be his destination’ after the Dutch club have been ‘talking intensively’ about a move.
According to their information, things are so advanced with the Toffees that Inter have now turned their attention to Bellerin, who is keen to make the move to Italy too.
Now, while this is all very exciting and sounds very definitive on Sport Mediaset’s part, we’d advise caution at this point as there’s been nothing similar from the Netherlands.
They are far more likely to know about what’s going on with Dumfries than their Italian counterparts, particularly if a move to Everton was as close as it seems to be.
Still, this is more positive news for the Toffees, who appear to be closing in on their first major arrival of the summer.
