Galicia Press has today a story about the strikers who have been doing great in La Liga and were born in… Galicia.
Iago Aspas, who’s scored 10 league goals this season, and Borja Iglesias, who has nine, are highlighted by the outlet for representing the place where they came from.
Now when speaking of Iglesias, Galicia Press comes up with interesting claims about the clubs who would like to take him out of Espanyol.
They say Everton have made a bid in January which was enough to take the player to the Premier League, but that wasn’t accepted by him.
Even though the Toffees were ready to pay the €28m (about £25m) release clause which protects the striker at Espanyol, Iglesias wasn’t keen on leaving in January, wishing to finish the season with the club and leave the bids aside for now.
Galicia Press doesn’t have any details of interest for a future move, but it’s clear that if Borja Iglesias keeps this form, he’ll keep getting invites from other European sides.
On January 14th, Marca reported an Everton approach for the player, and also said he wasn’t keen.
