Milliyet’s Besiktas reporter Serdar Saridag has spoken about Everton striker Cenk Tosun, who’s been strongly linked with a move to Besiktas in recent weeks.
The Turkish international hasn’t been a regular under Marco Silva this season and there have been reports he could leave Goodison Park in the next transfer window.
Speaking about a potential Tosun return to Istanbul, Saridag said the player is happy in England and he doesn’t want a Turkey return at this stage of his career: “Besiktas will loan Tosun if they have the chance. But, as far as I know, he and his family don’t want to return.
“There could be other players who can join and Erdal Torunougllari is working hard to get one striker in the January transfer window.”
Tosun has yet to start a competitive game for Everton this season, with all three appearances coming as a substitute. This week there have been claims his former club Besiktas will make an offer for him ahead of the next window.
Despite his lack of game time the Everton forward has made two assists in three games, most recently against Watford in the Carabao Cup.
Tosun’s contract with the Premier League aside will expire at the end of June 2022.
