Everton forward Cenk Tosun believes he’s repaid the faith Sam Allardyce has shown in him after being protected by the Toffees manager early in his Goodison Park career.
Tosun signed for Everton in the last window, and has started to find form in recent weeks.
Speaking to Fanatik, Tosun was asked about being left out by Allardyce in his first few weeks in England: “If you increase your physical strength, you will get a lot of form. In a few games to protect me he did not play me in the first 11 or put me in front of the fans. I think I made him proud with the goals I scored.”
Tosun made his debut against Tottenham in January shortly after his £27m transfer to Everton, and showed some promise in the defeat at Wembley.
However, the Turkey international found himself out of the team in February, with Allardyce preferring to start with Oumar Niasse.
Despite this setback Tosun was the hero for Everton last weekend when his two goals earned his side a 2-1 victory over Stoke City.
The previous week Tosun found the net against Brighton, and he’s now scored four goals in the last three games.
