Everton are interested in Wolfsburg midfielder Aster Vranckx but face competition from Nottingham Forest for his signature.
That’s according to journalist Loïc Tanzi, who says both clubs ‘moving forward ’ for the 19-year-old.
Vranckx is one of the next generation of Belgian talent trying to break through, with many having predicted a big future for him from a young age.
He made the move to Germany from KV Mechelen in a £7.2m deal last year but endured a difficult first year in Germany, with just two goals in 28 appearances in all competitions.
That, though, has seemingly not put off his suitors and both Everton and Nottingham Forest ‘hope to sign’ him this summer, according to Tanzi.
This is not the first time that Everton have been linked with the midfielder either.
A report in February stated they were ‘closely following’ his performances, and it appears their interest has not dissipated in the time since.
Nottingham Forest’s interest is not new but makes sense, with Steve Cooper’s side targeting young, upwardly mobile players they can develop as part of their efforts to strengthen this summer.
Whether either club get their man remains to be seen as Wolfburg’s stance is still unknown.
Tanzi, though, insists that Everton and Nottingham Forest are ‘moving forward’ to try and get a deal over the line.
