Inter Milan are pushing ahead with their efforts to sign defender Marash Kumbulla but face stern competition from Everton for his signature.
Kumbulla has been one of the revelations of this season in Serie A, putting in a series of impressive performances to help his club Verona have one of the best defensive records in the league.
His displays have not gone unnoticed, and several big teams in Italy and around Europe are all keen on his signature.
Inter are chief among them, according to FC Inter News and are now firmly ‘in the race’ for his signature having decided to make their move.
They are, however, facing competition from several clubs, Everton among them, with the website saying they are ‘above all’ in terms of their interest.
That suggests they are pushing hard to try and secure the 20-year-old, with it well established they are on the hunt for a new centre back this summer.
Unfortunately for Everton, however, Inter have something of an upper hand, and that is courtesy of the player’s wishes.
He has made it clear that he wants to move to a top club in Italy and continue his development there, and he recently turned down Napoli, hence why Inter are pushing ahead with a move.
Perhaps, though, the pulling power of Carlo Ancelotti, who has worked and developed some of the best defenders around in his career, can help Everton tempt the youngster to Goodison.
