Allan to Everton continues. And, perhaps, Napoli continue to have an unrealistic view of the price they can ask for the midfielder.
Monday’s edition of Il Mattino says Everton have ‘made an offer’ worth €45m for the Brazilian. It’s not clear when that offered has been made, yet it’s stated Napoli have knocked it back.
Carlo Ancelotti is the man driving the deal for the Toffees, having enjoyed working with Allan at the Serie A club. Napoli are ready to let the player leave, as they look to raise funds for their own signings, and it’s stated Allan himself is now looking for a transfer in the next window.
That all sounds positive, but then it’s stated Napoli are looking for a minimum of €70m. That simply isn’t realistic, especially when it comes to Everton.
Italian reports in recent months had talked the player’s potential price down to as low as €40m, and this feels like an attempt from Napoli to talk it back up.
It wouldn’t be the first time the club have done that, or have claimed big offers have been rejected for players.
