You may well remember the Bruno Fernandes to Manchester United saga well. We certainly do, it’s one of the most covered stories on Sport Witness, and thankfully had a happy ending for all concerned.

Shortly after the midfielder arrived at Old Trafford, claims started coming from multiple sources in France about Antero Henrique being involved in the deal. The former PSG sporting director was said to have acted as an intermediary between United and Sporting, and was credited with helping get the deal over the line.

The claims seemed very weak indeed, but now they’re back.

Le10 Sport report Newcastle could be interested in giving Henrique a role after their takeover, and it’s claimed he ‘notably completed the transfer of Bruno Fernandes to Manchester United, one of the biggest hits of January’.

Again, it feels unlikely he did play a major part, that’s if he was even involved in the deal at all.

Nevertheless, it’s stated Henrique is currently working with the Red Devils, and has been given ‘a mandate’ to get the signing of Corentin Tolisso done. Manchester United have been linked with the Bayern Munich midfielder before, yet this all feels like more effort to hype Henrique, with even Barcelona presented as interested in the transfer guru.
