Juventus agreed a deal with Atalanta for Dejan Kulusevski on January 2nd.
The 19-year-old joined Parma on loan last summer and the Turin club have allowed him to finish the campaign with Parma.
Prior to agreeing a deal with the Old Lady, Everton were credited with an interest in the Sweden international as Carlo Ancelotti was reportedly keen on acquiring his services.
According to Calciomercato, the Merseyside club made a ‘very important offer’ of €30m plus ‘important bonuses’ to Atalanta. In addition to this, the Toffees tried in ‘every way’ to convince the winger to make a switch to Goodison Park.
Apart from the Premier League side, Inter Milan were also looking to land the teenager.
It’s claimed that Juventus found out about Everton and the Nerazzurri planning to make approaches for Kulusevski, which is why they stepped up their efforts and agreed a deal with Atalanta for his transfer.
Given how many Serie A players Everton have been linked with since Ancelotti took over, these claims are always going to be questionable, but the Toffees need a midfielder in the summer, so there may be something in this one.
