Everton are one of two sides interested in FC Nuremberg youngster Can Uzun after his impressive start to the season.

That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who says that Everton and Benfica have ‘enquired’ about the 17-year-old.

Uzun is considered a ‘top talent’ in Germany and has started this season in impressive fashion, bagging four goals in nine games in the 2. Bundesliga and three goals and two assists in one game in the DFB Pokal.

That has seemingly alerted clubs all over Europe to him and his potential talent and while Everton and Benfica have inquired about him, Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Besiktas are all also thought to be keen.

Indeed, one of the five clubs have already submitted an official offer for the 17-year-old midfielder, but Plettenberg doesn’t specify who that is.

Uzun’s rising star is not going unnoticed, with Turkey coach Vincenzo Montella already considering him for the national team and Euro 2024 in Germany.

He’s made contact as he aims to build a new Turkish side and integrate players from their Golden Generation such as Arda Guler, Uzun and Kenan Yildiz.

He’s aware of Uzun’s talents and it seems so are Everton, who have already tried to steal a mark ahead of potential competition.
