What the world probably doesn’t need right now, at Easter and in the middle of the Covid-19 crisis, is a rumour about a footballer called Jesus Corona, but here we are.

Friday’s edition of A Bola goes big on widespread interest in the FC Porto player.

They present a series of club crests indicating interest, and Everton are at the top, with West Ham beside them. Valencia, Schalke, Sevilla, Inter Milan and AS Roma are the other clubs featured.

The 27 year old Mexican has had a good season for Porto, and shown his versatility. Playing on the right of midfield, at right back and even on the left, he’s managed two goals and a rather impressive 17 assists.

Everton and the Hammers have inquired about the signing, trying to find out the possibility of a transfer this summer.

A Bola say that despite Porto’s financial difficulties and the current situation, Corona’s price is €50m and ‘won’t move a cent’.

That’s hard to believe, Porto need money in and it would be a stretch to believe they wouldn’t accept something not too far below that figure.

Everton scout Portuguese matches regularly, so they’ll be well aware of Corona.
