Friday’s edition of AS has a special on potential bargains for the next transfer market, and Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard is part of it.
With clubs around Europe being hit financially during the Covid-19 outbreak, there’s a good chance levels of investment will not be as high as they would have been otherwise.
That’s thought to be the case for Spanish clubs, but they still need signings, so it’s going to be a case of having to work smart.
The Spanish newspaper put a value of €13.5m on Edouard, which is quite possibly something Celtic would take issue with.
It’s unlikely they’d be able to easily replace the 22 year old for such an amount, and given he has another two years of contract left at Celtic Park, there’s not a great deal of pressure this summer.
AS point out how Edouard ‘dazzled’ in the youth sections of French football, before hitting a career block and moving to Celtic.
He’s shown he can consistently score goals in the Scottish Premiership, finding the back of the net 21 times this season and adding 12 assists.
