This week, Brazil’s UOL have again been pushing Manchester United interest in Eder Militao.
The Brazilian defender has been something of a revelation for Porto this season.
At one time considered a right back who can play central defence, he’s turned that on its head, and now Porto are unlikely to move him from the middle position.
UOL said this week that Everton have ‘entered the parade’ to sign the player, along with Chelsea, and that the price was continually being pushed closer to Militao’s €50m buyout clause at Porto.
But Toffees interest is actually well backed up, and by UOL themselves. Back in September they reported Everton had been watching Porto and were keen on the player.
It was stated Everton have a close relationship with those representing the player, which are currently Kia Joorabchian, Giuliano Bertolucci and Jorge Ulisses.
In September, the price was estimated at €20m, and it’s more than doubled in the short time since. There’s clearly efforts going on to boost the player’s perceived value, and using Everton may be part of that.
